Make Way for Dyamonde Daniel

Make Way for Dyamonde Daniel (A Dyamonde Daniel Book) - Nikki Grimes As early chapter books go this one has little to recommend it outside its racial diversity and very inviting cover. I don’t see any child, of any ethnic make-up, finding anything to jump up and down about. It was pretty much a thinly veiled didactic text on how to make a friend and adjust to a parent’s divorce. It could have used more action, and less of the precocious Dymonde lecturing the new boy and herself on the best ways to adjust to life injustices.
